Throughout all of our efforts, the bottom line of what the Support Ministries organization is about is helping those in the community who are afflicted with HIV/AIDS. Our assistance can be seen in our housing programs but what is not often realized or seen is what occurs behind those walls. We at Support Ministries provide all the needed support for the daily living of many of our residents. This includes but is certainly not limited to medical scheduling, transportation, meals, activities, establishing workfare programs, support for mental health issues, providing advocacy for legal issues, and friendship. For many or Support Ministries residents, we are the only family they have and we pledge to assist them and help in any way we can.

It is true however that Support Ministries could also use some HELP of our own. As more and more cutbacks occur in federal and state funded programs, the less funding we receive to continue our daily operations and plans for future projects. The sad truth is that most people with HIV/AIDS will become homeless and with the cutbacks of the above-mentioned programs fewer and fewer housing and support options will exist. Support Ministries is asking for your support to help us continue the work that has been done to help those living with HIV/AIDS right here in the greater Albany, NY area.
